Gryphon Place
| Our mission | Our mission is to help people navigate conflict and crisis, foster resiliency, restore community, and support healing. |
|---|
| How you help | At Gryphon Place, we provide immediate and long-term support for individuals facing various challenges. Our 2-1-1 service connects people to essential resources such as housing, food, employment, and healthcare. Through our 9-8-8 crisis line, we offer confidential assistance for those experiencing emotional distress. Additionally, our programs like Gatekeeper suicide prevention training, restorative justice initiatives, and youth services aim to build a resilient and informed community. We also facilitate support groups, including the Survivors of Suicide Loss (SOSL) group, to help individuals heal and find hope. |
|---|
| About us | Today, Gryphon Place serves the community in many ways. We are the leading agency for suicide prevention in the area, and we continue to offer several suicide prevention resources, including the 24/7 helpline, The Gatekeeper Program, and a survivors of suicide loss support group. Gryphon Place is part of the statewide 2-1-1 information & referral system, which connects people to a variety of resources, including housing or utility payment assistance. We are the local volunteer center for Kalamazoo and the Community Dispute Resolution Services Center for Kalamazoo, Barry, and Calhoun counties. We offer mediations on a sliding fee scale and a Restorative Practices program in schools as an alternative to punitive discipline, with a focus on keeping students in the classroom. |
